Training of Trainers on Effective delivery of coastal and marine biodiversity courses for media students

06 Feb, 2017

Venue: SPICE, Mumbai

A one-day Training of Trainers was organized for the faculty members and trainers of the St Paul Institute of Communication Education (SPICE) in Mumbai. Seven trainers at the TOT participated with the aim to achieve the following learning outcomes.

By the end of the ToT, the participants were able to:

  • Understand their role as a trainer for implementing sessions on coastal and marine biodiversity for the media students.
  • Demonstrate the use of participatory training methods for facilitating participation and engagement in large and small groups.
  • Demonstrate customization of training methods based on their understanding of the audience.
  • Develop a training session plan for the upcoming training course on coastal and marine biodiversity at SPIC.
  • The feedback from the participants reveals that the learning outcomes were achieved, and that the trainers find the methods useful for their other courses as well.

SPICE is all set to take charge to implement, in February – March 2017, the curriculum on “Communicating coastal and marine biodiversity conservation and management through the media” developed under the CMPA project using the experts and resources from the network of trainers established by the CMPA project in the past three years.
